Portland-based

Watercolor Artist + Calligrapher

DANISON FRONDA-TIETZ

I’m located in Washougal, WAβ€”about 30 minutes outside of Portland, OR.

I mainly service North West Oregon, South Washington, and Northern California. BUT I started my business in Florida, so if you’re reading this, I’m bi-coastal BABY!!! Plus, I will go anywhere else in this big beautiful world to make your event an iconic one!

Wearing a BOWTIE has always been kind of my thing. From an early age, I wore bowties to formal events rather than a standard necktie. It was a way for me to stand out from everyone else and express my true self with either a pop of color or a fun print. It also didn’t hurt that people would compliment me more.

Bowties are meant to complete a look and bring everything together, so why not do that for your wedding + event? ALSO, weddings are usually the only event where a gentleman will ever wear a bowtie in their lifetimeβ€”so I figured it was appropriate for being in the industry.

Oh, and BRUSH! Well, I’m an artist who uses all different kinds of brushes in the work I do. Paint brushes for water color. Brush pens for lettering and calligraphy. Hair brushes to make sure my hair is always lookin’ fiiine.

let's be friends

Keepin’ it Green

Person sitting in a black chair holding a large white flower arrangement in front of their face, wearing a light green suit, with white flowers.

The wedding industry can be wasteful. I get it. I keep my footprint lighter with thoughtful materials and guest favors that don’t end up back in landfills. Not to be dramatic, but I refuse to make favors that end up in the trash. My work is meant to be kept and framed. Every sketch and calligraphy detail is created as an intentional keepsake, not a throwaway.

The watercolor paper I use for sketches is a renewable hemp stock. Hemp is the overachiever of renewable materials. It grows fast and sips water and needs fewer pesticides than cotton. It helps rebuild soil and pulls carbon from the air. It can become biofuels and bioplastics. It also makes gorgeous textiles and sturdy building materials. Efficient and eco-friendly without trying too hard. Perfect for your pieces of art.

Oh! And my paper supplier plants a tree with every order I place! You get beautiful art, I get paper that works great with my art supplies, and the planet gets a little boost!
